The Winter Olympics are only a few days away, starting February 12. Athletes have been training for years for their special moment. They will compete and win with grace. When they do not win, most will also lose with grace. Sounds like a good time to talk about God's grace at work in our lives. So, our current sermon series is called, "Way to go, Grace." It will run on Sunday mornings, January 31, February 7 & 14.
Remember, falling from grace is not the same as falling with grace.

In other FaithBridge news,
- Don't look now, but it's only a few more weeks until Lent. The first Sunday in Lent is February 21. Our sermon series for Lent is entitled, "40 Days." Each Sunday during Lent, we will share the Lord's Supper during worship. Also during Lent, we will spend some time on those Sundays in various ministries of servanthood. It's going to be a special time, so stay tuned for more details as they unfold.
As the year unfolds, FaithBridge will engage ministries that transform lives and transform our community. You are invited to be a part of all or any of these ministries. We'll work on a home for Habitat for Humanity. We'll welcome home the troops. We'll collect food for the hungry. That's only the beginning.
Brief History
On October 11, 2009, First United Methodist Church in Rockwall launched a "daughter" congregation. This new United Methodist Church in northern Rockwall County is formed for the purpose of creating even more disciples of Jesus Christ. First UMC Rockwall is uniquely positioned for this ministry, having not only the resources for launching a new church, but even more importantly, having the heart for this ministry. The new church is formed as a ministry of First UMC Rockwall.
The new church is called
FaithBridge Church, A United Methodist Community.
It is our hope that this name will convey that we are a church, embracing United Methodist tradition, with doors, hearts, and minds all open to the community.
This is an exciting time to be a part of both the "launching" congregation (First UMC) and the new church (FaithBridge). You are invited to prayerfully consider how you may participate in this ministry. We will invite people to serve in this ministry in many ways, both at the launching church and at the new church.
