Every week, there is a story in the news about an internet stalker, or a kid being bullied (or worse) on-line, or a kid sending a text message with adult language or even naked photos of themselves. Back to School" seems like a good time to talk together about
cyber-safety.  This sermon series concludes September 5.

Brief History

On October 11, 2009, First United Methodist Church in Rockwall launched a "daughter" congregation.  This new United Methodist Church in northern Rockwall County is formed for the purpose of creating even more disciples of Jesus Christ.  First UMC Rockwall is uniquely positioned for this ministry, having not only the resources for launching a new church, but even more importantly, having the heart for this ministry.  The new church is formed as a ministry of First UMC Rockwall. 

The new church is called
FaithBridge Church, A United Methodist Community. 
 
It is our hope that this name will convey that we are a church, embracing United Methodist tradition, with doors, hearts, and minds all open to the community.

This is an exciting time to be a part of both the "launching" congregation (First UMC) and the new church (FaithBridge).  You are invited to prayerfully consider how you may participate in this ministry.  We will invite people to serve in this ministry in many ways, both at the launching church and at the new church.
